Children’s Class (ages 10-15)
The Children’s Class is for kids who can handle longer classes and more intense training. Children in this class will be expected to have a little self discipline that we will encourage to grow into al lot of self discipline. Classes are safe and fun, but students are expected to work. Training will center around karate, but will include team work training, and leadership training. All students will be trained to be teachers and leaders.Karate training will include both cooperative and competitive training. Children in this class will be allowed to compete at any local tournaments that Martial Arts Today goes to. While we are not a school that believes in endless, expensive tournaments and giant
trophies, there are a few small local events in our area where kids can compete against others from the Western NC area and test their skills. Sparring (kumite) will be taught to children individually, once they attain the rank of Yellow Belt. For more information, please contact the instructor. (me)
Children’s Class Times:

Adult’s Class (ages 16 +up)
The Adult’s Class is a classical karate class. We teach all aspects of karate. Classes are physically intense, but you are expected to train considering your health and condition. We will help you build your stamina and endurance regardless of your current condition. Our classes tend to focus on the practical skills. While we will attend an occasional tournament, we do not train for tournaments. Kata (forms), and practical applications of kata (the fighting techniques used in kata) will be the cornerstone of our classes.
Adult’s Class Times
Tuesday and Thursday: 7:00 – 9:00
About all of our classes:
We do not have “introductory specials”. We don’t charge for introductory lessons. Come meet us, try out a couple classes, and see if you like them. If you want to stay, just start paying dues.
We do not use contracts. All our billing is done month to month.
Bring water! Students should come to class hydrated, and will be allowed to hydrate during class. Most people get a better workout when they drink water during exercise.
Ask questions! We encourage active learning, and are happy to answer any questions as they come up.
